Sola Scriptura-The Word of God is Sufficient

This blog will focus on Sola Scriptura (“by Scripture Alone”)

What is Sola Scriptura?  Sola Scriptura is Latin for Scripture Alone. I can only use myself as an example.  There was a time in my life when I was looking for God in every book other than the Bible.  When I was facing a medical problem I began to search out books on healing instead of the Bible. Don’t get me wrong. I am a book lover but when you are in a crisis it is God you call out to not your favorite author. Everything I was looking for was found in my Bible.

As I read 2 Timothy 3:16-17 I realized that something awesome had happened to me. My eyes had changed. I had read that scripture lots of time but this time I actually saw with a different set of eyes. All scripture is given by inspiration of God.

I have a new set of eyes and when I read God’s Words I read it with reverence, expectation, excitement, love, eagerness and etc.  You get the point.

My primary bible has become the King James Version with no commentaries. I have often heard people say that they cannot understand the KJV.  I would say that as well until I realized it was not the version but it was me.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Thank you for this blog today. I too have learned to seek God’s Word first and He will guide me to other supplemental resources. Matthew 6:31-33 is my guide in this situation.
