Psalm 13:5-6 (NIV)

5 But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
6 I will sing the Lord’s praise,
for he has been good to me.

A patchwork has been defined as pieces of cloth of various colors and shapes sewn together to form a covering; also : something resembling such a covering as a patchwork of fields.

While flying to Minnesota for Mothers’ Day what I saw from the air was similar to the picture above.  But I wanted to know why God thought this was a good topic to write about.  So I asked, “God what’s up with this?”

And He responded boldly:

“Clear your head, and open your heart”.

From a distance things will always appear jumbled and not clear.  Only when we get closer to God is when what appeared to be vague and unclear becomes clearer.  God has given us things to do, things to say, and things to write.  He has created various avenues for us to get His message to His people.  He has given us all of the pieces of various shapes, colors and sizes but we have not put them together. So for now everything looks like a huge patchwork with no clear definition.

Getting close to God is the first step but staying close to God is a whole different ballgame. While in the air, the pilot would fly low and then he would take the plane higher.  He did this a couple of times before making the final descent.

God was showing me that in our personal lives we often get close to Him but we allow circumstances and fear to keep us from staying close.

It is time to get closer to God and allow Him to define His Masterpiece.  He is waiting to show you exactly what it is He wants you to do.  He wants to define those pieces for you.

Why do I sound so sure?  I know that the God I serve and love and adore has never failed me. He is waiting for all of us to get closer and this time stay close because He has so much to say to us and to show us what it is He wants us to do.

Final Thoughts!

God will never bring you to the realization of the vision He has given to you and not let it come forth.

 Isaiah 66:9 (NASB)

9 ”Shall I bring to the point of birth and not give delivery?” says the Lord.
“Or shall I who gives delivery shut the womb?” says your God.
