God Has It All Under Control So Stop Stressing Out!

Angela Renee Bell

In the past month I have deliberately taken a break from social media.  I wasn’t sure why but I knew God had a purpose.

At times we go through life wanting our friends and family to confirm us in whatever it is God has called us to do.  We wait for a word that insures us that we are on the right track and when it does not come we begin to question God.

OK, maybe this message is not the big encouragement you were expecting from me but I have decided to write what God would have me to write because that is what I do.  I write. I am a writer.

Whatever your call is in life make sure you are doing it for the right reasons.  If you are trying to increase your online presence that’s OK  but ask yourself could you do what you are doing if no one knew what you were doing?

As a writer, with 3 blogs, I began to ask God why my subscriber list for my monthly newsletter had not grown?  God lovingly asked me why was I writing? Was I writing to get a huge following and possibly a book deal?  Was I writing to get recognition?

That’s when I had to get honest with myself and with God. The answer was I wanted the fame and the big bucks.

God truly had a plan and purpose for me in 1996 when I began writing but all I could see was the subscriber count and a few unsubscribed counts in 2013.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)

11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Now the revelation of all of this is whatever you have been called to do make sure God is the reason you are doing it.

My desire is to write what God has called me to write.  I thought I had to be in the complete process of getting His Word out to the people that He wanted me to reach. But God said write it,  and He will send it to the people that He wants to reach.  He reminded me of the people who have emailed me from other countries with encouraging words! What a blessing!

Know this above all things:

Would I like to write a book?  Yes, but it is okay if it never comes to past because I know when it is time God will cause it to happen.

Final thoughts:

Substitute “writing” for whatever God has called you to do.

Isaiah 55:8-9 (NLT)

8 “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. 9 For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”

So with this in mind stop trying to make things happen.  Trust God.  Take comfort knowing that God is in complete control of your life and your destiny.

Know that with God all things are possible.

Know there is nothing too impossible for God.

Know that God loves you and He is your biggest fan.

Make Him first in your life.  Make Him everything in your life.  True peace can only come when we give it all to Him not holding back anything.

Be blessed!
