You will make known to me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.
Have you ever started a task in which you knew it might be too big for you to complete but you started it anyway?
A few weeks ago I decided that I needed a special area in my home where I could go and pray, read my Bible, journal and hear from God. In my mind I could see that space so clearly. I needed a special desk where I could write what God was saying to me.
I asked God to show me what to do and where to go to get this special desk. Without any hesitation I got in my car and began to drive to one of my favorite stores but God pointed me to another one. Once inside this store I walked around knowing I probably would not be able to find my desk but God had it there for me to see.
After getting it home which was no easy task I opened the box and took out all of the various pieces of hardware and desk components. At that moment I began to second guess myself. Did I really hear from God?
The most important element inside this box was the instruction manual. If I had read it properly and not tried to skip ahead, it probably would not have taken me almost 3 days to complete.
God is so understanding. He knows each one of us. He already knew what I would do and He allowed it because there was a lesson to be learned. Once the desk was completed, God was able to get through to me about His Instruction Manual. He said at times I read but don’t see. That was a hard pill to swallow.
God used the construction of this desk and the way I used the instruction manual to let me know this was the same way I read His Word. The Bible has answers for everything in our lives. He directs our paths. He knows what we will do and how we will do it.
So what have I learned?
Philippians 4:13 (NASB)
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
Stop trying to do it your way. Stop trying to make things happen. God has given to us His Instruction Manual which is the Bible. Within it are all of the answers we seek. Every page is God speaking to us but are we listening?
If you are facing a trial in your life or you do not know which direction to take, God is saying this:
Joshua 1:9 (NASB)
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
Be outrageously blessed!
