Stretch – 10 Years Later

The word STRETCH has been defined as “a difficult or demanding task”.

My husband who is now deceased was diagnosed with colon cancer in February of 2004. Upon hearing that devastating diagnosis of stage 4 colon cancer I knew that our lives were about to change in areas we were not ready for. This was uncharted territory but I knew I had to trust God.

The inevitable happened in May 2007.  As I gazed in shock at my husband’s lifeless body, I heard my Father say “Mission Accomplished”.  What exactly did that mean? (Article explaining those 2 words to come later).

God reminded me of an article I wrote in October 1999 entitled Yet Will I Trust Thee.

Below is an excerpt from that article:

God has a plan for your life even when there is doubt on your part. Because of my lack of faith I was forced to deal with some issues, which I had tucked away in a hidden closet in my heart. Suddenly, I could sense my Spirit man standing tall. Things did not bother me. Situations did not overcome me. People did not bother me. Praise began to take on a new meaning. God had me to look around at His creation. He asked me if I doubted the changing of the seasons. I did not doubt it. I just knew the seasons would change. I finally understood! God had gotten through to me! How do I know that God will handle all things? I JUST KNOW IT!

So now what is STRETCH all about?

On November 2, 2005 I was awaken at 2:30 A.M. by God. I lay there waiting for whatever He wanted to say to me. With pad and pen in hand I wrote the word STRETCH. That’s it Father? STRETCH? Now what? He had me to write Standing Tall Reaching Every Task Christ Has.

What did God want me to do with this? I tried sharing this in the weeks and months that followed but God let me know it was not time.

Now it’s time!

  • If you are feeling overwhelmed with life read on.
  • If you have too much on your proverbial “plate” read on.
  • If your “to do” list continues to grow read on.
  • If you are ready to give up read on.

Whatever your “IF” may be, you are being STRETCHED! God knows this. You are not in this alone. When you think you cannot be STRETCHED any further remember this:

God knows you better than you know yourself. He knows what you are made of and He knows how far you can be STRETCHED so…. Stand Tall and Reach Every Task Christ Has given to you!

Final Words!

You’ve been commissioned!

Matthew 28: 18-20 (KJV)

18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
