Are you trusting God?

We all have dreams of doing something BIG.  But what are you dreaming of?  Answer the following questions:

Have you included God in your plans?  YES or NO

Are you making plans?  YES or NO

Do you have a plan?  YES or NO

Have you taken a step in that direction?  YES or NO

Have you taken that leap of faith? YES or NO

The following article entitled Leap of Faith Revisited was published January 1, 2011.

The basis of this article was taken from a movie entitled Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade. This movie was released on May 24, 1989.

As I was watching the last part of this movie, something happened that I had not noticed before.  Indiana Jones was forced to take a leap of faith.  You say, “I’ve seen that before but what is so important about it?”

Did you notice that the end results did not occur until the leap was taken?

Did you notice that because Indiana’s father had been shot and was dying, he knew he had to do something drastic?  In other words, his back was up against the wall and he did not see a way out. Have you been there?

Did you notice that the bridge had always been there, but it was not until he took that leap of faith that he was able to see it?  He also did something that most visionaries will understand.  Once the leap was taken and he reached his goal he sprinkled sand and pebbles on the bridge so others could follow him.  He did not keep it to himself.

Did you notice the book he kept referring to?  That book had the answers. OUR BIBLE HAS THE ANSWERS.  The goal had been defined.

Did you notice once the goal had been achieved, he brought back “healing water” for his father who had been wounded?  Once the “water” was poured on the wound, his father was miraculously healed.  That is what the Word of God is to us. The more I think about it this movie was an awesome movie.

Did you notice that until the “action” was taken the “goal” could not be reached?  As he took the leap, he focused on his “defined” goal.  We must take action to reach our goals.  Another way you can put this is  write your vision, review your vision, believe your vision, and execute your vision“.

God has given each one of us a vision.  For that vision to become real, we must take a leap of faith.  Begin now to put into action the things you need to do to achieve your goals.  One side note to this is: SEEK GOD FIRST.

Webster’s dictionary says a leap is an act that is risky because its consequences cannot be foreseen.  It also means to accept eagerly something offered.

What is faith?  It is an unquestioning belief in God.  It is an unquestioning belief that does not require proof or evidence. Hebrews 11:1 (KJV) states “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

While I was re-writing this article, a tiny leapfrog came to mind.  This little creature must take many leaps to reach his goal.  In our pursuit of the vision God has given to us, we may have to take many small leaps before the goal that has been placed in front of us can be reached.  The little frog continues to leap not knowing whether his next leap will be his last.  His leap is just as Webster states: “It is risky because its consequences cannot be foreseen”.  The little frog did not freak out.

If you want results some type of action must take place.  James 2:26 (KJV) states “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also”.

Your dream will remain a dream until that first leap of faith is taken.  Until Indiana Jones acted, the bridge he had to cross remained unseen and his goal remained unreachable.  The bridge you must cross has been placed in front of you, but you will not see it until you take that leap of faith.

This is not about having enough money in the bank or having everything in place, but it is about trusting God enough to take that leap of faith.

We are almost in 2021. Can you believe it?

Let 2021 be the year of leaping out.

Do not freak out but leap out!
